In addition to financial contributions, Alter-Nation.com pledges its moral support to the goals and efforts of Amnesty International and all human rights workers throughout the world. We urge everyone to do likewise. In that respect, we offer this prayer of hope, courage and determination.

The Humanitarians' Prayer

Let me have the strength and decency to do what I can to make a difference.
Let me willingly join in the struggle for justice, freedom and human rights.

When asked, “Are you not afraid that those in power will feel threatened and crush you?”
Let me respond honestly and whole-heartedly:
“Without honor life has no meaning. Without our help, they can not crush us.”

When I am discounted, vilified, circumvented, ignored or shouted down:
Let me know in my heart that the truth will be heard;
Let me know in my heart that each effort makes a difference.

When the liars lie, and the cheaters cheat, and the sleepers sleep;
Let the workers work, let the singers sing, let the dreamers dream!

And if I am imprisoned
then they will have made an example of me,
and proven my point...

And if I am murdered
then they will have martyred me,
and proven my point...

And if I disappear
then they will have assured my memory
and proven my point...

In life and in death let my effort be an example for all who will follow.

Let humanity find transcendence.
